Mel Baker
Mel has worked at Eaves Family Dental since 1997. Mel is semi-retired and now on her 2nd tour of duty for our practice. She remains a valuable member of the team. Before finding Eaves Family dental, Mel attended SUNY Geneseo, and then went on to a very successful 25-year career in banking as a vice-president in various customer service areas. One of my most enjoyable experiences has been getting to know our patients and their families and following their care. seeing them smile. That’s what it is all about."
Lynda Cauwels
Lynda has been with Eaves Family Dental for over 16 years and has served in nearly every capacity - dental assisting, treatment coordinator, billing and maintaining the schedules for the Doctors. Many of our patients ask where Lynda is when they come in the office if they don’t immediately see her at the front desk. "I have had the pleasure of watching our office grow over the years and it is very rewarding to see how our patients continue to enjoy and share their beautiful smiles."
Lynda spends her free time spoiling her granddaughter, mentoring and tending to her yard. She has 2 grown children; Nicole lives in Phelps and Nate is in the U.S. Army.
Melisa Edsall
Melisa has been with Eaves Family Dental for 1 1/2 years,starting as a receptionist in September 2007. She has experience working within the office as Treatment Coordinator, Hygiene Assistant, Dental Assistant and Scheduling Coordinator. We’ll just say, "She has done it all!" Melisa is currently enrolled at Monroe Community College taking a program to become a Certified Dental Assistant. She is expected to graduate in May 2010.
Beyond work, Melisa is married and the mother of 2 boys. She likes to spend her free time outdoors, walking and gardening. She also likes to spend time with her family and friends.
Laure Fuchs
Laure joined the Eaves Family Dental Group in October 2008 in the position of receptionist. Since that time, Laure has learned so much in the field of dentistry and is continuing to learn and train in various other positions in the office. Laure has a very outgoing personality and enjoys meeting all the patients when they come into the office, in whatever capacity she may be working in that day. She is always the first to step forward to volunteer to work a different shift or to assist one of her co-workers.
When Laure is not at the office, her hobbies include spending time with her daughter and working with all her "kids". She also loves cooking and gardening.
Mary-Ellen Laffin
Mary-Ellen has been with Eaves Family Dental, on a part-time basis, for a little more than two years. She handles billing and accounts receivable. She "appreciates the practice’s focus on meeting patient needs". Customer satisfaction is constantly stressed in our daily interaction with patients and ongoing training that the staff is offered through seminars. Mary-Ellen appreciates the Eaves Family Dental Group’s flexibility with her schedule which allows her the time to provide care to an elderly parent.
In her spare time, you will find Mary-Ellen in her garage refinishing a "treasure" she has picked up at a garage sale or flea market or you may see her out and about enjoying the the beauty of the Finger Lakes area.
Ashley Lewis
Ashley has been with Eaves Family Dental for almost 2 years. She is our Hygiene Coordinator and does a great job of keeping track of all the cleaning appointments for our patients. She also has had clinical assisting training which she feels helps her greatly while scheduling and maintaining the hygiene schedule for three dental hygienists. Ashley is dedicated to helping our patients continue good oral health and maintaining a nice, healthy smile.
During her free time, Ashley is kept quite busy with her 3 year old twin boys and is looking forward to a new family addition later on this summer.
Lois McMichael
Lois has been employed at Eaves Family Dental since September 2008 in the position of HR Manager. She previously worked in the medical field for many years and although there are similarities, there are many differences and new things to learn and discover in the field of dentistry. Lois has enjoyed meeting and getting to know her co-workers, as well as the patients. As a long-time resident of Penn Yan, many of the patients are her friends but others come from far and wide to receive the high standard of dentistry available here at Eaves Dental. Lois looks forward to a long relationship with the practice, not only as an employee but also as a patient.
When not at the office, Lois enjoys golfing, gardening, reading and walking with her black lab, Molly. She and her husband are active members at the Moose lodge and involved in many different areas of community support and various projects. They also enjoy traveling, especially to PA to visit their granddaughter Meghan.
Angela Race
Angela has been working at Eaves Family Dental for almost 1 year. She has enjoyed working with the doctors and fellow staff members. She has had the pleasure of meeting with all the patients that come to the office. Coming from previous experience in the medical field, she has enjoyed learning about the interesting field of dentistry and looks forward to continuing her training and learning here at Eaves Dental.
During Angela’s time away from work, she enjoys spending time with her family and taking her two dogs for walks.
Amy Wallace
Amy has been with Eaves Family Dental for only a few months and has been going through an intensive training program. Amy is a licensed cosmotologist and this is an entirely new field for her. She has found it challenging but is quickly learning and enjoying her new role.
During her off hours, Amy enjoys painting, cooking and keeping up-to-date in the world of cosmotology.
